Eagles vs. Thunderbirds

I asked Brandon if he wanted to go with me, but he had to go to karate instead. So, I went all by myself. 45 minutes. THE most boring drive ever. I kept entertained by my Reel Big Fish, Adam Sandler, and D12 CDs. However, I fortunately didn't get lost AND found a parking spot close to the game. I was walking toward the field and I heard some people cheering, followed by the announcement, "Monona Grove: 6, Baraboo: 0." I knew for sure that we would win.
And win we did, for the 6th week in a row! We scored plenty of times, and at halftime the score was 28-0. (it's worth noting that, if you recall, we beat Reedsburg 49-0. Well, the week after, Baraboo LOST to Reedsburg. so we knew we'd win this game.) After halftime, the game moved slowly, and when it finally ended, it was 34-6, putting us at 6-0! Undefeated!! To me, the play of the game came in the first half from senior Josh Steiver. He made an awesome interception and returned it about 45 yards for the touchdown.
But enough about the specific plays. More about the humorous social interaction. When I got into the stands, I was faced with a problem I neglected to think about in advance: Where was I going to sit? Fortunately, Rachel Vitense saw me and directed me to the MG section. So, I sat by her, Katie, Sarah, and a bunch of other assorted students. We had fun watching and explaining everything that happened to this little old lady that was sitting by us. But the best moments were our interactions with Baraboo students.
First, whenever we saw someone walk by with a visor, backwards hat, baggy pants, rag on their head, or a puffy coat, Eric Berg would lead us in shouting "Ghetto!" and pointing and laughing at them. It was truly hilarious and enjoyable.
Second, at one point some girls (both of whom REALLY looked like men) were making fun of our cheerleaders. So, as MG students, Rachel, Eric, and I went down there and gave them a piece of our mind. My statement to them was as follows: "I know you're from Baraboo, so I'm going to talk very slowly. We're from Monona. That's the white team. The team that's winning." I went on later to warn them against ridiculing our cheerleaders.
Well, it was indeed an awesome game, and an awesome night. I will be back next week with a report from the Homecoming game vs. Verona. It will probably be a fun night, too. See y'all.
