Eagles vs. Vikings
Tonight was the first time I'd ever gone to an away MG football game. I was looking forward to it. It was in Stoughton, so me and the Terry left Monona at 6:30. We arrived in Stoughton at 7:00, game time. Immediately, we saw Erin McNamera, Isabel Castelnuovo, and Amanda Reinwand. We entered the bleacher area, only to hear an announcement that said "Due to the lightning, we ask that everyone go into the school." And that's where things got really horrible. Especially cuz I had already paid the three bucks to get in. So, we began to wait in the high school hallway. At 7:40, they made an announcement that they would have a conference amongst themselves to make a decision about the game at 8:00. 8:00 came and went. At 8:30, they finally said that they would start the game at 9:30. (for those of you counting at home, that's 2 and a half hours after the scheduled start time) At 9:40, the game still hadn't started, so I said "screw it" and I left. I later watched the news to see the score, and I discovered that the game didn't even start until 10:15. So, basically, I lost $3 in gas to get there, $3 to get in, and $3 to get back. As for the game, there's still more interesting stuff. At 12:15 A.M., they stopped the game for some reason I haven't found yet. There were about 7 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. They resumed the game at 4:00 the next day. The final score, almost 24 hours after the original scheduled start time, was Monona Grove -- 21; Stoughton -- 14. At least they won. That makes them 3 - 0! I'll be back next Friday!
