Adventures of a Half-Day
Adventures of a Half-Day

After getting out of a half-day of school, they decided to go to the mall to see a cheap movie. Who exactly are "they?" Well, "they" are Tear-E, Shvotz, Bert, Joelle, Bark Mehl, and Dustin. Tear-E, Bert, & Joelle rode in Bert's truck. Bert drove. Shvotz and Bark rode in Shvotz's car. Shvotz drove. Finally, Dustin rode in Dustin's SUV. Dustin drove.
When they got to the mall, Tear-E, Bert, & Joelle couldn't find the others, so they decided to go check out the movie times. After that, they returned to the food court and found Bark & Shvotz. And more! They also found Little Willie, Alayna, Mini-Little Willie, and others, including Dustin. They all ate their food (some faster than others, Bert) and Tear-E, Bert, Joelle, Shvotz, & Bark Mehl went to the cheap theaters. After debating which movie to see, they finally decided on "Scary Movie 2." Bert, Shvotz, and Tear-E had already seen it, and it was apparent from the start that Joelle wouldn't like it. So, since, Bert didn't really like it either, he and Joelle spent the whole movie making fun of it. [see above drawering to understand the seating arrangement.] As for Bark, who also hadn't seen it, he didn't really like it.
After the movie, the five teens were meandering about when Bert & Shvotz noticed it: The wall! Not just any wall, mind you, but a wall specifically made for climbing! So, Bert & Shvotz payed their money and began to climb. Shvotz climbed the medium course, and Bert climbed the children's course (the one used for 5-year-olds). This was hard on both of them for two reasons: 1) they are both really afraid of heights, and 2) the safety system left their arms and groins in pain. But Bert had plenty more pain in store for him, as he later found out.
They left the mall after climbing. This time, it was Joelle in Bert's truck, and Bark & Tear-E in Shvotz's car. Dustin had long since left. On the way to the dream park in Bert's truck, he and Joelle talked about relationships. On the way to the dream park in Shvotz's car, it was brought up by Bark that is was really obvious that Bert liked Joelle. (I talked to Bert about this and he refused to comment.) Anyway, at the dream park, the first thing that was apparent was that Bark was gone. As it turned out, Shvotz had dropped him off at football practice. The second thing: the Tire Swing. This turned out to be the source of more pain for Bert (and some for Shvotz, too). Bert got in the swing and Joelle pushed it, immediately sending Bert into a world of dizziness and nut-smashing. (as for Shvotz, Bert had his feet out too far and Shvotz got too close, resulting in Bert's feet flying directly into his junk) On top of the nausea from the swing, Joelle felt it necessary to convince four or five small girls to chase and tickle Bert (and to some extent, Shvotz). Bert was not amused. Anyway, shortly thereafter, Shvotz went his separate way and Bert dropped off Joelle.
Later, before going to the 311 concert, Bert & Tear-E heard Nick & SA interviewed on WMAD. They also played an AWESOME acoustic version of "I'll Be Here Awhile." Anywayz, the review of the concert is right here. Should you want to read about the first half of today, then visit the Almost Daily Event right here. I bid farewell to all of you until something else interesting happens.
